Floor Management
Vineyard Floor Management encompasses a wide variety
of tasks, all dealing with the vineyard soil and
soil surface. These tasks are identified by
location within the vineyard, as well as, purpose
which can vary greatly due to soil, topography, and
our client’s philosophy. Northwest Vineyard Service
implements numerous cultural practices and uses a
wide array of tools available to our industry.
Cover crops selection and maintenance choices vary
greatly. These covers have different water
requirements, and contribute varying amounts of
organic mater, color, or even nitrogen (in the case
of legumes) to the soil.
Vineyard floor management can have a subtle
influence on vine growth, and careful management can
feed, dry, or add structure to the soil that
sustains the vineyards.
